I am incredibly honored and grateful to share that on May 26, 2026, Alex Sifakis of JWB Real Estate Capital and I received a resolution from the full Jacksonville City Council recognizing our volunteer efforts to restore and revitalize the historic Jacob Jewelers clock.
This recognition means more than I can put into words.
I want to extend my sincere thanks to Councilman Matt Carlucci Sr. for initiating this resolution and for believing that preserving Jacksonville's history matters. I am equally thankful to every member of the Jacksonville City Council for unanimously approving it and recognizing the importance of protecting the landmarks that help tell our city's story.
When this project began, it wasn't about recognition. It started with a desire to see an important piece of Jacksonville's history restored for future generations. Thanks to Alex's generosity, the support of many community partners, and countless people who encouraged the effort along the way, the Jacob Jewelers clock is once again chiming and standing proudly in the heart of downtown.
To have those efforts acknowledged by our city's elected leaders is truly humbling. Jacksonville is a city filled with people who quietly work behind the scenes to make our community better, and I am honored to stand alongside so many passionate advocates who care deeply about our city's future.
Thank you to Councilman Carlucci, the entire City Council, Alex Sifakis, and everyone who played a role in this project. Your support reminds me that preserving our history is not just about remembering the past. It is about investing in the future of Jacksonville.
